Lied about the Latte

June 3rd, 2008 at 09:49 am

I have been telling myself for a while now - that I don't do Lattes. And that there is no Latte Factor in my life.
Can you believe that?
So - then why did I spend $12 at the gas station this morning on two waters, an iced tea, a Banana Nut Muffin, and $5 in cash back?
Duh! That's my Latte.

Also - I got a package in the mail yesterday - from ShareBuilder (never heard of them - but I guess it has to do with investments).
In the package was a $30 coupon for my first investment buy (I don't think that's the correct lingo, but oh well)... in addition - there was a book!
The Automatic Millionaire - by David Bach!!! A free copy!! I just got done reading Start Late - Finish Rich, and loved it.
I have no idea why I was sent this "gift" - but I am really REALLY having a good time dealing with personal finances.
Perhaps it's a sign! To keep on trucking... I will get there!
Hey, a gal can dream!

Wow, not only is that a "latte" if you do it regularly, but it is a really big "latte." Is it daily, or only when you fill the tank?

PS: That calculator on your left column is a cool feature. I'm always pulling up my calculator program.

Maybe a "guardian angel" sent it to you. Maybe someone else who knew about your "latte" factor. Funny how things happen like that. I used to say I didn't have a "latte" factor. Mine turned out to be my daily "drive-thru-lunch" factor. Eliminated that, saved $20 per week and lost 27 lbs in 4 months. Man, wish I had that realization sooner!
    Doh! indeed.

Joan, no - not every day... but still, once or twice was enought to realize I was in denial. I had to get Milk for my 18mo old, for the babysitters - which is why I stopped to begin with. lol...

Haven't read start late finish rich, but I really liked the Automaic Millionaire. Happy reading!

Hmmm and I was just sent a Miller-McCune magazine last week (bill themselves as 'science based research answers to social questions') with no idea why.

I forgot to add - it came with a free year of Money magazine! Smile

What a neat surprise in the mail! I actually have a few stocks that I purchased a few years ago with Sharebuilder. Usually their big sales pitch is that it only costs $4 to buy stock. So far I've only invested about $50 total, but it might be a good deal if you're investing bigger amounts at one time?
