Loss of Control

April 17th, 2008 at 09:28 pm

I fought the urge, but Target won. Frown $31.00. 3 shirts for Lil' DS, 1 shirt for DD, 2 boxes of granola bars, and 1 pack of hair things for DS. Needs? Naw. Darn Target.

I really feel a loss of control right now. Lil' DS is not eating properly, he went to bed at 11pm last night, and we have to wake him up at 6 to go to Daycare.

The kitchen is a MESS. Tomorrow is DD's 9th b-day - I have cupcakes to make.
Couldn't even make myself make dinner, so $15 at Little Caesars.

I know there's a correlation between house and finances... I hate that I failed miserably today. I spent some of our gas money for next week.

I just feel so unorganized. The kids aren't listening, the lil' one is acting silly, and DH is watching the Suns game.

gahahahahahaaahhhhahah!

sorry for the vent...

Yes you stumbled. What are you going to do now? Maybe try again next month?

Get back on that horse. You need to rework your budget. I would also say that you may want to set up a schedule, try to get the family on track.

You can do this. It's hard because you are changing behavior.

I've been feeling a little "lost" lately too. Frown

Right there with you Jaime. I was thinking last night as I was laying down that I should get up early and get the dishes in the dishwasher before going to work. Did I? No, I hit snooze 4 times!!! But, it is Friday and I am planning on spending a nice relaxing weekend at home--getting things organized and doing some cooking for the next week. Merch is right--get back on the horse. And ban yourself from Target for 2 weeks as punishment (LOL Smile )

Get right back on the horse and go again. Review it but don't dwell on it.

It's hard, but momentum picks up more and more with each little success.

Don't beat yourself up too much, if you were perfect, you wouldn't need a budget or a blog! I think the important thing is that you realize what you've done wrong, and try to do even better next time!

Having small children and always being in demand can make you feel unorganized - you need some Mommy time maybe; while Daddy watches the little ones.

    Jaime - God bless you!
And here's a friendly tip: Target DOES accept returns. Realizing you made a mistake and owning up to it at the return counter is very liberating.
